There are moments in life when we find ourselves simply sitting with what has changed, allowing ourselves the quiet space to reflect and find our way forward.
Solace depicts a solitary female figure seated among layers of warm, neutral fabrics, her gaze turned toward something beyond the frame. I was drawn to the challenge of painting the figure, fabric, and subtle shifts of warmth and light throughout the composition. The process became a reflection of my own experience of coming to terms with changes and challenges in my life.
There is a quietness in her posture—not quite sadness, not quite certainty, but a moment of pause. A moment to sit with where you are before deciding where you will go next.
