Capturing the feeling of a moment through colour, contrast, and the quiet beauty of familiar things.

Artist Statement
My work explores the quiet beauty and emotion found in everyday subjects. I am drawn to florals, still life, figures, and small moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, using them as a way to explore ideas of memory, comfort, nostalgia, growth, and finding your way.
I am particularly interested in the relationship between colour, contrast, and texture and the way these elements can transform an ordinary subject. Deep, dramatic backgrounds allow colour and light to become more expressive, while painterly marks and texture bring a sense of movement and life to familiar objects and natural forms.
Through my work, I am less interested in simply documenting what I see than in capturing the feeling of a moment. A flower, a piece of fruit, an old teapot, or a quiet animal can hold a surprising amount of emotion and memory. I invite the viewer to slow down, look closely, and find their own connection within these familiar subjects.
